- Abstract
The article reports on observed discordance between sonographic and operative data in the diagnosis of acute cholecystitis (AC). A retrospective analysis of test sensitivity for preoperative ultrasound imaging in 122 cholecystectomy patients to confirm the presence of gallstones is discussed. The American College of Radiology supports the use of ultrasonic imaging for diagnosing cholecystitis.
