- Abstract
Today, when we examine different courses' curriculums it seem that those curriculums are consist of the components like value, skill, and objectives. Among these components, especially value has an important place in teaching activities because of its determinant role in shaping skills and objectives. Based on this reason, this study was conducted to show the opinions of social studies teachers regarding value transfer approaches. The study was performed with 19 social studies teachers who work in central Kilis in 2014-2015 academic year. The study was conducted with considering case study that one of the qualitative research designs. Social studies teachers' answers to the semi-structured interview questions were analyzed with content analysis. With the data of the study following results were reached: Television programs affect value transfer negatively. Social studies teachers have adequate knowledge regarding value transfer. For value transfer social studies teachers often use modeling approach. Course books are prepared with considering value explanation approach.
