- Abstract
The article focuses on the Biblical story of the binding of Isaac, or the Akedah, in modern Hebrew poetry. Topics addressed include discussion of the complex relations between non-believing writers to the ancient text, examination of the pattern of the Akedah in 20th century Hebrew poetry, and the dominant theme of a collapse of religious faith resulting in the commandment to sacrifice Issac.
