- Abstract
This article discusses a case study of a 46-year-old woman who experienced complications after undergoing treatment for bleeding varicose veins in her stomach. The woman initially underwent endoscopy and had cyanoacrylate applied to stop the bleeding. However, she later developed symptoms of dyspnea and desaturation, and a chest CT scan revealed that the cyanoacrylate had embolized to her lungs. The article emphasizes that while cyanoacrylate treatment can be effective for variceal bleeding, it can also lead to complications such as pulmonary embolism. Treatment for cyanoacrylate pulmonary embolism is primarily supportive.
