- Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between Catholic community of Tooele County, Utah from the 1870s through the 1920s and Catholic Saint Marguerite-Marie (or Margaret Mary) Alacoque. The role that Irish Catholic stenographer Frank (also spelled as Franke) E. McGurrin played in use of the name Marguerite for Saint Alacoque, including in regard to the creation of typewriting competitions and naming of the Tooele Catholic Church for Frank McGurrin's niece Marguerite McGurrin, is discussed.
