- Abstract
In this article then author considers aspects of change and sustainability in the Okanagan River Valley, a region in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The author notes environmental damage done to the region as a result of urbanization, including an increase in air pollution, a decrease in biodiversity, and the incidence of urban sprawl. A number of topics are addressed including the human capacity to transform their landscapes, a decline in wildlife in the Okanagan Valley, and political issues arising from sustainable development.
