- Abstract
The debate surrounding Brazil's Public Education has been, in the last years, including new characters, scenarios, concerns, and also theoretical and methodological aspects. Several experiences are in course, especially in the Municipal Education System, both in the urban and rural areas. A plurality of profiles, actors and organizational processes has been developed, having as one of its characteristics the extension of the school day. In 2007 a new educational initiative was created by the Education Ministry to reinforce and broadcast the proposition of Integral Education, which was materialized by the program Mais Educação. This article includes the debate about Integral Education and the training of educators developed by the Federal University of Paraíba, through the Center for Citizenship and Human Rights, having as reference the training actions developed in the last years in the field of Integral Education in its interface with human rights. In this paper we reflect about the challenges present for the construction of integral education, having as the axis of our thinking the theme of the training of educators. More than ever its necessary the creation of training spaces so that the various actors involved in popular public schools are able to weave the course of Brazilian public education. We argue that the public university plays a key role in this trend.
