- Abstract
Body is a complex subject and present in different fields that propose models from their ontological presuppositions. The disability, while brings damage for the body, comes to break with that constructed models, so it is important to know how each area is positioned face the disability, where difference itself is the feature. This article aims to highlight different ontological assumptions about the disabled body and its forms of treatment. The course covered the natural body of ancient Greece, followed by a body resided by the soul in the Middle Ages, then a functional body in the current scientific context and finally a body proposed by psychoanalysis. It concludes pointing to the reflection on the bases that sustain the proposals of attention to the people with disabled body, in order to recommend the dialogue between the teams of health professionals.
