- Abstract
Descriptive transversal study, with fifty pregnant women, between first to the third quarter, assisted in the private clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Brasília. The objective of this study was to verify the prevalence of low back pain, pain intensity, the situations in which pain is more intense, and if the pain interferes with the professional activity in a group of pregnant. The participants answered a questionnaire about back pain and its influence on ADL. The prevalence of low back pain was 72%, being the predominant pain in the second trimester (44.44%). Being more frequent daily (36.11%) and weekly (36.11%). In several ADL's it hindered because of pregnancy back pain. Low back pain is a common symptom among pregnant women, but it is still neglected by health professionals. It is a symptom which disturbs the ADL of pregnant women, but it is easy to identify and treat.
