- Abstract
TNF inhibitors, which are used to treat inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, modify an individual's immune response and can increase susceptibility to serious and potentially life-threatening infections. Nurses must have a good understanding of these medications to monitor patients safely during treatment.
