- Abstract
A recent study published in the European Heart Journal explores the feasibility of using coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) instead of invasive coronary angiography to plan coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with chronic coronary syndrome. The study found that there was a high level of agreement between the CCTA results and the treatment received, suggesting that CABG may be performed without the need for coronary angiography. However, the study had limitations, such as a small sample size and a low-risk patient population, and further research is needed to confirm these findings. Despite these limitations, the study has the potential to change CABG practice and improve outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease.
