- Abstract
This essay focuses on the history of male homosexuals in Europe. It discusses the writing of Michel Foucault and examines the book "Los Invisibles" by Richard Cleminson and Francisco Vásquez Garcia. The social, religious, and political aspects of European countries in the 19th century are explored and the identity of gay Spanish men is analyzed. The critic Gregorio Marañón and his criticism of "Los Invisibles" are discussed at length, and the lack of writing about Spanish gay culture is expressed.
