- Abstract
The Qing dynasty produced a large number of poems and other literary publications. These publications are kept in government and private collections. The Chinese National Library has the largest collection of original Qing literature, followed by the Shanghai Library, the Nanjing Library, and the Zhejiang Provincial Library. Japan’s Kyoto Library has the largest overseas Qing collection. Many of these items were hand copied. The article categorizes Qing literature into essays, poems, and verses, and summarizes the characteristics of each category, noting that the same poem could have different versions in different Qing publications, and that the different versions should be compared and studied.
