- Abstract
The article offers information on how contemporary traumatic literary works are being read. It discusses the depictions and manifestations of traumatic events and disasters in contemporary writing. It highlights the re-evaluation of the literary works such as the book "Beloved," by Toni Morrison and "Corregidora," by Gayl Jones, both focusing on the haunted memories, repression, and buried inexpressive voice. It examines various reading elements including limit of interpretation, content comprehension, and understanding. It also features how Jacques Derrida addresses mourning, spectrality, and testimony in his books including "Specter of Marx," "Cinders," and Demeure."
