- Abstract
The article discusses the relation of the Young England political faction, composed of the British politicians George Smythe, Lord John Manners, Alexander Baillie-Cochrane, and Benjamin Disraeli, to industrial medievalism as a form of social harmony. Their role in shaping Tory Party social politics is addressed in relation to religious allegories used by Disraeli. The influence of philosopher Henry St. John, Viscount Bolingbroke on Disraeli is noted.
