A literary criticism for the book "Norte" by Paz Soldán, is presented. Topics include leave from Latin American history to insert into circuits of market-driven circulation; and Josefina Ludmer's observation that the contemporary Latin American novel's autonomy from political and commercial exigencies has been compromised by the transnational circuits of circulation for the social, political relevance or literary worth.
