- Abstract
The article examines the accomplishments of the Admont Benedictine monastery librarian P. Benedikt Stadelhofer as he oversaw the renovation of the Admont Monastery Library in Austria at the beginning of the 19th century. Starting with an historical overview of the library before Stadelhofer was installed as librarian, the article discusses his cataloging projects, which improved the everyday running of the library, and how he set up the various spaces of the library. His method of inscribing books is also discussed, as are several of Stadelhofer's successors including the historian P. Albert Muchar and theology professor P. Urban Ecker.
