- Abstract
Shiraki et al. [[1]] have retrospectively evaluated the potential role of echocardiographic and clinical characteristics on embolic risk in 737 patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) treated with appropriate anticoagulation. Considering the persistent risk of LAA thrombosis formation in LAA velocity less than 18 cm/s, a more intensive anticoagulation or approaches such as LAA appendage closure in these cases might be advisable.
