- Abstract
The sources and harms of antibiotics pollutants in aqueous phase, the research progress on the removal of antibiotics by adsorption of natural mineral clay and the application status of modified or composite clay materials were reviewed. The adsorption performance of clay-based materials as adsorbents for different types of antibiotics were summarized. The future trends in the removal of antibiotics from water using clay-based materials as adsorbents is prospected. And the research directions related to practical uses of this technology were suggested.
