- Title
AN EVALUATION OF SELECTED SERIES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS.
- Authors
Newport, John F.
- Abstract
The article describes a study on the potential of selected continuous series of elementary school science textbooks to enable teachers to meet the major objectives of elementary school science in the U.S. It is noted that science textbooks have become the mainstay of most elementary school science programs because of the limited science background of many elementary teachers. The study is restricted to the investigation of continuous series of elementary school science textbooks copyrighted in 1957 or later.
