- Abstract
The article reports on the survey of programs of institutions on the requirements of geology in the U.S. and Canada. The aim of the survey was to devise a standard program for students majoring in geology. Questions were grouped on categories, group A which listed all courses students required to complete and Group B the elective courses from which to choose so that the total number of credit hours earned in geology courses total exactly 32 hours. Findings revealed that in general Group A are universally accepted and required with a slight occasional variation from institution to institution. Seven institutions disapprove a Bachelor of Arts degree and prefer the candidate for graduate study to present himself with a Bachelor of Science degree.
