- Abstract
The article presents information on a pilot study on the various methods of teaching biology to high school students. The study consisted of eight schools in the U.S. divided into four groups of two schools each. The groups consisted of a control group, a film group, a laboratory group and a film and laboratory group. The schools administered the California Test of Mental Maturity and the Minnesota State Board Examination in Biology exams during the first week of classes. After the study, the four groups were found to have achieved different amounts of scientific proficiency.
