- Abstract
Discusses the synthesis of well-aligned heterojunctions of carbon nanotubes and silicon nanowires by chemical vapor deposition. Formation of uniform core-sheath structures; Observation that the material in the cavities of the carbon nanotubes is polycrystalline silicon in the form of nanowires; Possibility to use this process for developing metal-semiconductor and other nanoscale junctions.
