- Abstract
This article discusses the effectiveness of community-based theatre (CBT) to raise AIDS awareness in the African region. It explains the ability of CBT to inform the public about various issues including disease, stigmatization, and sexuality. The author analyzes the occurrence of communicative breakdown in Kenyana by researching issues as far as gender inequities are concerned. The major causes for the communicative breakdown in Kenyana are discussed. The relevance of CBT against AIDS is also discussed.
