- Title
SOUND DESIGN.
- Authors
Tosti-Lane, Dave
- Abstract
The article focuses on the sound design for theatre production in the U.S. It states that the present availability of flexible electronic control of sound for production allows the specification of a sound environment consistent with any style of directing by the director. It mentions the articles published by Harold Burris-Meyer, Russell Johnson, and Charlie Richmond that mostly focused on acoustics. The author states that electronic control's resources on audio envelope permit the interrelation of prelude, entre-act, and postlude music by sound designer with explicit and implicit sound effects specified by the playscript and production style.
