- Title
Stool pH and Reducing Sugars: Can We Finally Stop Offering These Tests?
- Authors
Pyle-Eilola, Amy L.
- Abstract
The author explores the issues surrounding the use of urine and stool as tests for reducing sugars. She mentions what prompted the discontinuation of the production of Clinitest tablets, which were used for testing urine and stool for reducing sugars, in July 2010. She highlights findings of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) CM-A 2010 Clinical Microscopy urine reducing substance survey. In addition, she details the use of Clinitest tablets as a semiquantitative assay.
