- Abstract
Entrepreneurship is a very engaging topic which nowadays has led countless people to start new businesses, either because of the possibility of financial gain from a new product, or because of innovation in a particular business area. Female entrepreneurship has also come to the fore, as women have sought to undertake in various areas, thus breaking social and economic paradigms, as well as gender paradigms and the paradigm of the female entrepreneur. Another aspect is that female entrepreneurs work a double shift, as they divide their time between family and business. Entrepreneurship also causes stress and other problems from a psychological point of view, which leads us to propose the following problem: What are the psychological characteristics of female entrepreneurs? With this in mind, our main objective was to study the risk and need to undertake; and our secondary objectives were: to study the risk and need to undertake; to describe female entrepreneurship in Brazil; to point out the main aspects of the psychology of entrepreneurship; and to document the behavioral characteristics of female entrepreneurs. The results of the study show that women face a double working day, having to reconcile family and business. The conclusion is that female entrepreneurship is marked by challenges and risks, but also by personal and professional rewards.
