Música preexistente em filmes de David Neves dos anos 60: na contramão do nacionalismo cinemanovista?.

- Abstract
Cinema Novo tends to include the musical scores of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos in accordance with the movement’s projected construction of national identity; however, in Mauro, Humberto (1968) and Memória de Helena (Memories of Helena, 1969) David Neves resorted to a European romantic repertoire. We argue that while Neves’ themes coincide with those of Cinema Novo, the soundtrack of his films suggest cosmopolitism, the associations with Romanticism of Humberto Mauro’s cinema, and literary connections with Modernism in Minas Gerais.
