- Abstract
The article discusses several court cases involving disputes on the use of public funds for public school students and civil and constitutional rights of students and parents in the U.S. In the Anderson v. Town of Durham case, parents argued that a state statute that excludes students of sectarian schools from receiving public funds for tuition payment is unconstitutional. In Fields v. Palmdale School, parents accused the school district of violating their constitutional right to privacy and their right to control the upbringing of their children, in response to sex-oriented survey conducted by the school district.
