- Abstract
This article presents information about various affairs related to social sciences. Opinion Research Corp. has announced formation of a new Tastemaker Division to handle "an expanding program of research into the scientific prediction of consumer behavior." The thirteenth annual institute in Survey Research Techniques will be held by the Survey Research Center of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from June 20 to August 13, 1960. The Advertising Research Foundation Inc. (ARF) has announced the appointment of Melvin Hattwick, Director of Advertising of Continental Oil Company, as Chairman of the Committee on Motivation Research. Hattwick has been a member of the Committee since its inception in 1953, and succeeds retiring Chairman Herta Herzog of McCann Erickson Inc., who resigned when she left for an extended assignment in Europe. ARF has also announced the addition of a third Consultation Panel and the appointment of six new members to its Technical Committee. The new Panel will be chaired by Edward Beatty, Vice President of Compton Advertising.
