- Abstract
Psychosocial, stress and decision-making risks are a fundamental part of human factors in aviation, whose inadequate management could cause failures that could jeopardize operational safety. The objective was to identify the relationship between intralaboral, extralaboral, stress, self-confidence and decision-making psychosocial risks with the personnel of the Technical Group (grute) of the Military Transport Air Command (catam) of the Colombian Air Force (fac). Thus, 163 active military personnel of the catam grute were administered the Intralaboral and Extralaboral Psychosocial Risk Factors Questionnaire, the Questionnaire for the Evaluation of Stress-Third Version, the Melbourne Questionnaire on Decision Making and the Self-Confidence as Decision Maker Scale, in order to assess their indicators, correlations, probabilities and regressions. As a result, psychosocial risk levels were reported in 78 % of the participants, further associated with general stress (r = .48 p < .01). Ambivalent self-confidence was present in 37 % and low self-confidence was present in 8 % of the participants. Worse patterns in decision making, procrastination/hypervigilance and transference could be explained by stress in 24 % and 16 %, respectively. In conclusion, psychosocial risks, stress, self-confidence and decision-making patterns are interrelated, and there are high and very high levels of risk. Finally, there is a high probability of presenting them currently or in the future within the grute, which represents an evident danger for the operational safety.
