- Abstract
In our case, the knowledge of the presence and location of the varicose vein within the cervix allowed us to perform correctly a cerclage, delay delivery and prevent extreme prematurity. Transvaginal ultrasound revealed a blood vessel which occupied the entire lip very close to cervical canal and an occlusive placenta previa. 3 days later, she presented an episode of severe vaginal bleeding from a large blood vessel within the cervical canal.
