- Abstract
Increasing value and reducing research waste in obstetrics: towards woman-centered research Keywords: evidence-based practice; individual patient-data meta-analysis; meta-analysis; obstetrics; randomized controlled trial; research waste; systematic review Stopping early the trial in The Netherlands, when evidence emerged that sildenafil was actually associated with increased fetal risks, has changed clinical practice and demonstrates clearly how the responsible conduct of randomized controlled trials can protect women and children around the world[[12]]. A key limitation of meta-analyses is that only published trials are available for inclusion and the results of the trials are known prior to the initiation of evidence synthesis.
