- Abstract
This article explores the factors influencing membership growth and retention in the Mormon Church in Latin America and Europe. It examines the role of local leadership and perceptions of the United States in these regions. The study finds that the occupation and social status of local leaders have a significant impact on membership growth and retention. It also discusses the challenges faced by local leaders and the perception of the LDS Church as being associated with the US government. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for effective leadership and addressing cultural conflicts to improve retention rates.
