- Abstract
The article focuses on relationship between leading and improvising discussion, and use of improvisational theater and side-coaching by English teachers in the U.S. to develop their teaching practices. Topics discussed include using concept of side-coaching which means feedback from experts, had been suggested by educator Viola Spolin; developing listening skills of students through side-coaching and functioning of side-coaching as cultural mediation as it involves nonverbal and verbal cues.
