- Title
CLUES LINKING FRANCES E. W. HARPER AND GEORGE HERBERT.
- Authors
ARANA, R. VICTORIA
- Abstract
The article discusses the links between Frances E. W. Harper's "The Two Offers" and George Herbert's "The Collar." Harper's masterpiece centers on women's choice of husband or spiritual vocation, which could dictate their fate. "The Collar," by Herbert shares the same theme, but was presented in the first-person view. The author says that the similarity of their style might be caused by Harper's extensive reading that might have included works by Herbert.
