- Abstract
The objective of this work is to reflect on the epistemological evolution of Critical Rationalism and the scientific nature of Administration. To achieve this, bibliographical research was used to recover materials on Karl Popper, Imre Lakatos, and other authors, in addition to going through the main Brazilian researchers on the scientificity of Administration. The discussions show that Critical Rationalism was influenced by conventionalists such as Henri Poincaré and Pierre Duhem, in addition, within the Popperian and Lakatosian demarcations, Administration can be considered a science, although some authors point out that it does not have the same criteria as the natural sciences and lacks validity and relevance of the constructs. Within this field, Administration does not have the duty to adopt the same parameters of the natural sciences, while the lack of methodological rigor is a point to be improved, but even so, it cannot be used to discredit Administration researchers. Furthermore, it is believed that administrative science has a lot to evolve with Karl Popper's teachings by learning more from failures rather than getting attached to success stories. Despite these issues, Administration can also be considered a conventional science because its constructs are related to empirical utility and provide effective guidelines for organizational needs.
