- Abstract
The book "The Iron Age in the Upper Duero (7th century BCE - 1st century CE). Landscapes, identities, and power" by Raquel Liceras Garrido offers an updated study of the pre-Roman communities in the Upper Duero region during the first millennium BCE. The author emphasizes the importance of addressing structural problems in the research of the Iron Age in the inland of the Iberian Peninsula. The book is divided into seven sections and analyzes the settlement dynamics during this period. Chapter 4 focuses on the settlement pattern and the architecture of the Early Iron Age, while Chapter 5 focuses on the emergence of urban settlements in the Late Iron Age. Chapter 6 examines the social changes after the arrival of Rome, and Chapter 7 presents the main research findings. The book offers a renewed vision of the pre-Roman cultures and highlights the importance of focusing on people rather than objects.
