An essay is presented concerning the topics of the novel titled "Chance" by the late Polish-British writer Joseph Conrad. It explores the narrative problem of Charles Marlow, a recurring character as a seafarer in the work of Conrad. It also highlights the Marlow's language and method of tale-telling in the novel.
