- Abstract
The article presents a case study of using a venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) as treatment for polypharmacy-induced cardiogenic and vasogenic shock with respiratory failure in a 38-year-old woman presented with polysubstance overdose. The patient had respiratory failure that exacerbated by the absorption of benzodiazepines and psychotropic agents. It mentions that ECMO can improve survival in poisoned patients who suffered from cardiac arrest and shock.
