- Abstract
The article reports on the results of research which was conducted in an effort to determine whether anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) risk is associated with the use of breast prostheses. researchers examined data on all patients with lymphoma in the breast that were diagnosed in the Netherlands between 1990 and 2006. Researchers found that their preliminary findings suggest that there is an association between silicone breast prostheses and ALCL but that the risk is exceedingly low due to the rare occurrence of ALCL of the breast.
