An interview with John B. Davis, economics professor at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, is presented. When asked about how he managed to follow both careers as a philosopher and an economist, he refers to life chances. He discusses his inspiration of publishing works with different subjects including history of economics, social identity, and heterodox economics. He notes his approach in expressing the history of economic ideas.
