- Abstract
The article analyzes the study "The Unspoken and the Repressed in Arabic Narration," by Fadel Thamer. In this study, Arabic passages are bound by a chain of inner and outer pressures and are bound by repressive and dominating authorities. The article categorizes these authorities into periodical, spiritual and aesthetic. It focuses on what writers have undergone, specially in Egypt, such as incarceration, persecution and rape.
