- Abstract
The article discusses the presence and experiences of Cheyenne and Lakota women during the Battle of the Little Bighorn in Montana in 1876. Topics explored include the moral and medical support extended by these women to soldiers and family members, the lifestyle and trading activities of Lakota and Cheyenne tribes prior to the conflict, and the way Lakota women prepared horses and retrieved unspent ammunitions for combatants.
