Nurses claim new research plan has medical bias.

- Abstract
The article focuses on a British government plan to boost health research by £1 billion, which according to nurse leaders is flawed. The plan was announced by British chancellor of the exchequer Gordon Brown and health secretary Patricia Hewitt. But nurses argue that public interests could be better represented by researching patient care given by them. Cheryll Adams, Community Practitioners' and Health Visitors' Association professional officer stressed that public health practice requires extra funding to increase the number of opportunities for nurses and health visitors to carry out research.
