- Abstract
The article presents a study that investigated the effects of a nonsecosteroidal vitamin D receptor (VDR) ligand on hypercalcemia. The results of the study showed that by histomorphometry, it was revealed that VDRM2 caused the growth of the cortical bone area and introduced periosteal bone-formation rate with relation to OVX. The eroded surface of trabecular bone surfaces were suppressed by VDRM2 at normal serum dosage levels of calcium. The data suggest the potency of vitamin D analogues over VDRM2, but the latter has a margin of greater safety.
