- Title
THE HIDDEN ROLE OF COST: MEDICARE DECISIONS, TRANSPARENCY AND PUBLIC TRUST.
- Authors
Fox, Jacqueline
- Abstract
The article discusses the role of cost in implementing the rules and regulations in the U.S. healthcare system. It explores the need to restrict the amount of healthcare resources per insured individual to prevent the occurrence of problems resulting from the unarticulated cost concerns in the nation's healthcare system. It claims that Medicare Act should be changed allowing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to effectively reduce healthcare costs for the sake of the public.
