- Abstract
The author puts forth his views on the issues of interface between academic research and practice, and the value of planning, raised in a Discussion Paper by Royal Town Planning Institute's Deputy Head of Policy and Research. Topics include need for planning academics not to show concern about impact of their research and its relevance to the society; instrumental model of policy-research interface; and need to focus on social and environmental values while demonstrating the value of planning.
