- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted on mice to understand the effect of amyloid beta-protein plaques induced toxicity on brain. The tetra derivative of benzothiazole aniline, BTA-EG₄, an amyloid binding molecule penetrated the blood-brain barrier. The researchers were able to reduce beta-level toxicity, alter cell surface expression of amyloid precursor protein and improve memory of the mice but were not able to deduce the effect on synaptic plasticity modulating processes.
