- Abstract
The article presents a study that links frontal and temporal lobes of the brain to cognitive aging involving diffusion magnetic resonance imaging tractography. It reveals that degradation of microstructures in the fornix and the uncinate fasciculus contribute to age related decline in episodic memory in individuals aged over 50. The study suffers from limitations of a cross-sectional design, which is susceptible to cohort effects and reflects only chronological age.
